His paintings, poetically employ a language similar to that of geometric abstraction in order to delineate the presence of color on the canvas. His geometry though, is informal and intuitive; a system that follows no mathematic rigor whatsoever, but that is rather guided by feeling and subjectiveness. This allows his color fields and monochromes to feel loose, while his lines and folds generate ʻtensionʼ within the canvas, subverting the modernist rigor with a playful and relaxed approach to his practice.
